The Union Cabinet today approved the modifications in the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Bill, 2005, which was earlier approved by the Cabinet for introduction in the Parliament.
The modifications to be made in the Bill will eliminate the possibility of misusing the proposed law by the relatives of the husband to further victimize and harass the wife or the woman living in a relationship like marriage.
The modified Bill will be introduced in the Parliament.
