Mineral Exploration Corporation Limited (MECL), a public sector unit of the Mines Ministry has carried out 45,843 meters (m) of drilling and 2,042 m of developmental mining during the first quarter of the current financial year crossing the targets of 40,000 m and 1416 m respectively. During the same period last year, the company carried out 39,090 m of drilling and 1,465 m of developmental mining.
During June 2005, it has also crossed the target and carried out drilling of 15,115 m and developmental mining of 648 m against the targets of 13,340 m and 490 m respectively.
