Somewhere in the Western Theatre. With the successful completion of Ex Vajra Prahar between Special Forces, Indian and Special Forces of the United States of America, military cooperation between the two countries has strengthened further. Expressing extreme satisfaction on the conduct of joint training, said one of the Green Beets, (popularly known US Special Forces). We train most of the armies in the world, but its here we get equally trained.
Ex Vajra Prahar was conducted over a period of three weeks in the Western Theatre from 04 to 19 Aug 05. The aim of the exercise was to hone up mutual combat skills by sharing experiences, related with various security challenges of the modern world, with each other.
Participating troops gained first hand knowledge of each others weapons, equipment, operational techniques and organization with a view to achieve better understanding of each others capabilities as also to develop ability to operate co-jointly. Exercise Vajra Prahar consisted of tactical manoeuvres, long range surveillance technique, special heli-borne operations, combat survival, combat shooting techniques, and a friendship parachute jump. A number of high ranking Indian Army officers witnessed the training event and interacted with the participants.
