The Minister of State for External Affairs, Shri E. Ahamed told the Lok Sabha today that the Government has been extending special facilities to the senior citizens in the issuance of passports. They are exempted from Police Verification at the time of issuance of passport provided at least one of their children holds a valid passport. They are also granted ECNR (Emigration Check Not Required) at the time of issuance of the passport. There are separate queues for senior citizens at all passport offices.
The above information was given by the Minister in reply to a question by Sh. Dalpat Singh Parste.
