The Union Cabinet today gave its approval for extension of tenure of the High Level Committee to inquire into the incident of fire in 9166 Sabarmati Express on February 27, 2002 at Godhra Station by three months beyond September 4, 2005.
The extension would enable the Committee to complete its complex investigations and finalise its report.
The Committee started its functioning from September 5, 2004.
