Expansion of Indias trade with Russia, USA, China and UK is a sustained and continuous effort of the government. Steps are being taken, on an ongoing basis, to expand and diversify trade through various trade promotion measures with these countries such as market research, participation in trade fairs/exhibitions, promotion of dialogue at the highest level through exchanges of delegations, constant review through the Joint Commission/Working Group/Sub-Group mechanism, Joint Business Councils, exchange of information etc. Russia has been included as a Focus Country in the ongoing phase of the Focus: CIS programme aimed at developing and enhancing Indias trade with countries of the CIS region.
As per international trade statistics available from Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence & Statistics (DGCI&S), Kolkata, the statistics of Indo-Russia, Indo-US, Sino-India and Indo-UK trade during the last three years is as follows:
