A meeting of the Consultative Committee of the Ministry of Home Affairs was held here this morning. The topic of discussion was Police Administration. Members touched upon various issues like promotion, recruitment, training, working conditions, image and modernization of police force. They made valuable suggestions. The discussions will continue during the next meeting of the Consultative Committee.
The meeting was presided over by the Home Minister, Shri Shivraj Patil. It was attended by S/Shri Dr. P. C. Alexander, R. K. Anand, Maulana Obaidullah Khan Azmi, B. S. Gnanadesikan, Balbir K. Punj, Debabrata Biswas and Lalhmingliana of the Rajaya Sabha, and S/ Shri Nikhil Kumar, Moni Kumar Subba, Pawan Kumar Bansal, Madan Lal Sharma, Aditya Nath, Sarbananda Sonowal, Brajesh Pathak, S. D. Mandlik, Mohan Singh, Dhirendra Agrawal and Smt. B. Susheela of the Lok Sabha. The three Ministers of State for Home S/ Shri Manikrao H. Gavit, Sriprakash Jaiswal and S. Regupathy and Shri V. K. Duggal, Home Secretary, Dr. D. K. Shankaran, Secretary (BM) and Shri Anil Choudhary, Secretary (Internal Security) were also among those present at the meeting.
