In order to increase the capacity of Paradip Port steps like construction of Deep draft iron ore berth on Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) basis for handling of cape size vessels of 1,25,000 Metric Tonnes (MT) and construction of clean cargo berth on BOT basis to handle Dry Bulk cargo such as fertilizer, food grains and containers have been initiated. Apart from this, deepening of channel to 16.9 metres depth is planned to be taken up after obtaining necessary approvals.
