baalu approves national highway improvement works in gujarat

The Union Minister of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways, Thiru T. R. Baalu has approved road improvement works on various National Highway sections in the State of Gujarat at a total cost of Rs. 11.84 crore.

An amount of Rs. 483.72 lakh has been approved for widening of the existing single lane to 2-lane carriage from km 225/0 to 243/650 of NH-8A.

Approval has also been granted for construction of paved side shoulders from km 150 to 167 of NH 8E (Bhavnagar-Somnath section) at a cost of Rs.371.30 lakh. Widening of the existing intermediate lane to 2-lane carriageway from km 107/650 to 113/225 of NH 8A Extn. has been approved at a cost of Rs. 118.81 lakh.

Strengthening of the existing pavement from km 71/0 to 83/0 of Nadiad-Dakor-Pali road under Economic Importance Scheme has also been approved at a cost of Rs. 146.95 lakh.

Another repair and rehabilitation work of damaged Mohar Bridge between km 41/60 to 41/80 on NH-59 has also been approved at a cost of Rs. 63.479 lakh.
