The Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) celebrated 39th year of its raising on 23 Aug 2005. Mrs Anupama Singh, President AWWA felicitated all the members of AWWA of the Indian Army and exhorted them to continue with selfless devotion to give a helping hand to the weak and helpless. She is confident that AWWAs motto of Sharing and Caring is the inner strength of its members which motivates them to commit themselves with so much of dedication.
On this occasion she distributed aids and appliances to differently abled children of Asha School Delhi Cantt. The aids and appliances had been donated and designed to fit each child by OPCAR. The issue of Differently Abled Children is very close to the heart of Mrs Anupama Singh. AWWA is the largest NGO in the country with a network of 29 special schools all over the country. Mrs Anupama Singh has decided to take a major initiative in working for the Special Sector. AWWA is a registered NGO of the Indian Army Wives raised in Aug 1966. It is working for the welfare of War Widows, P! atients, Disabled Soldiers, Cancer Patients, Marital Discord Management, Students Education, Welfare of Ex-servicemen and Differently Abled Children.
AWWA is headed by Mrs Anupama Singh who has been its member for over 35 years. She believes in empowering women socio-economically to bring about a genuine change in the society. AWWA has taken a big leap wherein the activities of AWWA will be undertaken at national level to bring about a synergy between various Govt Agencies, NGOs and other social activists.
