Australia, known for its eco-tourism destinations will share expertise with India for the development and conservation of eco-tourism and beach tourism in India. In a meeting of visiting Tourism Minister of Australia Mr. John Pandazapolous with Smt. Renuka Chowdhury, Minister of State for Tourism here today it was agreed that both the countries would promote bilateral cooperation in various sectors of tourism. A joint working group will chalk out an action plan for this purpose.

The Australian Minister said that his country had enlarged its visa operations in India to facilitate Indians building Australia. He said recent ‘Incredible India’ campaign has created lot of curiosity about Indian destinations among Australians. Both the Ministers also discussed preparations being made for forthcoming Commonwealth Games from the point of Tourism. They also agreed to explore the possibilities of holding cultural festivals in each other’s country to promote tourism.
