Rajya Sabha


During the year 2004-05, the Ministry of Tourism has sanctioned an amount of Rs. 2827.69 lakhs for the following projects for the State of Andhra Pradesh:

Development of Bhadrachalam, Khammam as tourist destination.
Celebration of Kuchipudi festival.
Celebration of Lumbini festival.
Southern India Tourist Train – feasibility report.
Sea cruise between Visakhapatnam-Port Blair-Chennai-Feasibility report.
Taramati Baradari Cultural Complex-feasibility report.
Development of village Shri Kalahasti, Dist. Chittor.
Integrated Development of Kurnool Tourism Circuit.
Integrated Development of tourism Circuit-Hyderabad-Nalgonda-Khammam.
Destination Development of Bhavani Island, Krishna District.
Taramati Baradari Cultural Complex.
Rural Tourism – Village Pochampalli.
Rural Tourism – Village Shri Kalahasti.
Rural Tourism – Village Chinchinada.
Rural Tourism – Development of Purttaparthi.
This was stated by the Minister of State for Tourism, Smt. Renuka Chowdhury in a reply to a question by Smt. Vanga Geetha in Rajya Sabha here today. She said that the implementation/execution of the projects is the responsibility of the State Government.
