The Ministry of Food Processing Industries has released a total assistance of Rs. 105.22 crore to implement the Food Parks Scheme. It has so far approved 50 food parks for assistance across the country.
The Ministry releases funds for setting up food parks. It provides financial assistance in the form of grant-in-aid for providing common facilities. The Ministry does not set up food parks on its own. Food parks are infrastructure projects and take a long time to come up. The Minister of Food Processing Industries, Shri Subodh Kant Sahai, stated this in the Lok Sabha today.
