Delhi Development Authority (DDA) have reported that they have allotted approximately 3590 plots for different institutional purposes to hospitals, schools, religious and other socio-cultural activities. This includes 65 hospital/dispensaries and 642 educational institutions.
As per policy two years time is given for constructing the building. No composition fee is charged upto 5 years and thereafter composition fee is charged for non-construction as per rules.
Regarding hospitals, in 16 cases construction has not been completed till date. Of these two have been cancelled for gross delays; 3 are within 5 years grace period prescribed; and the balance are under construction after paying composition fee for delay in construction. For other institutional categories, DDA has reported that no such information has been compiled. However, extension of time is granted beyond 5 year grace period only on payment of composition fees and action under lease terms for any major delays are taken based on facts and merits of individual cases.
This information was given by Minister for Urban Development and Parliamentary Affairs, Shri Ghulam Nabi Azad in his written reply to a question of Shri Janardan Dwivedi and Shri Motilal Vora in the Rajya Sabha, today.
