The Union Cabinet today gave its approval for removal of Drugs and Pharmaceuticals from Schedule-II of the Notification (List of Industries in respect of which Industrial Licensing was compulsory) No. S.O. 477(E) dated July 25, 1991 as amended from time to time.
The removal of the additional requirement of Industrial Licence under the Industries (Development and Regulation) Act, 1951 would simplify the operating environment for setting up of Industries in the sector.
