The Union Minister of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways, Thiru T. R. Baalu has approved road improvement works on various National Highway sections in the State of Uttar Pradesh at a total cost of about Rs. 33 crore.
Approval has been granted for improvement of NH 76 at a cost of Rs. 498.61 lakh. Approval has also been granted for Improvement of Allahabad-Mirzapur Road section of NH-76-E at a cost of Rs. 444.66 lakh.
Six Road repair works have also been approved under periodical renewal at a cost of Rs. 811.49 lakh on various sections of NH 76, NH 29, NH 56, NH 29 and NH 56 in Uttar Pradesh. Further, improvement work of roads on NH 76, 76, 29, 24 and NH 7 have also been approved at a cost of Rs. 679.43 lakh in U.P.
Approval for Improvement of riding quality of NH-76 (Jhansi-Allahabad Road) including widening of the Highway amounting to Rs. 471.57 lakhs has been accorded.
Sanction has also been given for Improvement of NH-56 (Lucknow-Sultanpur-Varanasi Road) amounting to Rs.327.73 lakh and NH 96 (Faizabad-Allahabad Road) amounting to Rs.183.28 lakh in the State.
