Indian Railways are making continues efforts to improve and increase the passenger amenities in trains and at stations. Regular and surprise checks are conducted by officers and supervisors in railways to ensure the availability and maintenance of passenger amenities. 6903 such checks have been conducted during current year so far. Suitable disciplinary action is taken by railways against the officials concerned, if found guilty.

Passenger amenities in trains and at stations have not deteriorated. Improvement of Passenger Amenities at Railway Stations as well as in trains, including up gradation/renovation/modernization is a continuous on going process in Indian Railways. Every year, increased funds are allocated under Plan head “Passenger Amenities” for this purpose and works executed to further improve passenger amentias. Indian Railways have a systematic method of monitoring of availability of passenger amenities both at stations and in trains.
