indian railways carry 211.34 million tonnes of freight during april-july 2005

Indian Railways have carried 211.34 million tonnes of revenue earning freight during the first four months of the current financial year, which is 6.35 million tonnes more than the target. The freight carried shows an increase of 20.42 million tonnes over the freight of 190.92 million tonnes actually carried during the corresponding period of last financial year. The target for April-July, 2005 was 204.99 million tonnes.

During the month of July 2005, the revenue earning freight carried by Indian Railways was 51.36 million tonnes, which is 0.82 million tonnes less than the target of 52.18 million tonnes. There is an increase of 1.70 million tonnes over the actual freight of 49.66 million tonnes carried by the Indian Railways during July, 2004.
