CBI filed a chargesheet against Shri R.C.Handa, the then
Section Officer and now Under Secretary of the Union Ministry
of Home Affairs (Freedom Fighter Division) New Delhi and Shri
J.C.Kalia, retired Under Secretar of Punjab Govt. for issuing
forged Pension Pay Orders (PPOs) to several persons of Punjab
under the Freedom Fighter Pension Scheme. The investigating
agency filed the charge sheet, u/s 120-B IPC r/w Section 420,467,468
and 471 IPC in the Court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate,
New Delhi, against the two officials for issuing 62 forged
sanction orders for grant of Freedom Fighter Pension @ Rs.3,000/-
plus dearness relief, per month to persons of Punjab with
retrospective effect.
