A Task Force has been constituted under the Chairmanship of the Principal Advisory (PP), Planning Commission to explore various options other than price control for achieving the objective of making available life-saving drugs at reasonable prices.
This information was given in Rajya Sabha today by the Minister of Chemicals & Fertilizers and Steel, Shri Ram Vilas Paswan in a written reply to a question by Prof. Alka Balram Kshatriya and Shri SU. Thirunavukkarasar.
In a written reply to another question by Shri Rama Muni Reddy Sirigireddy, Shri Paswan stated that a National Policy on Petro-Chemicals is being finalised. The Policy measures being proposed in the National Policy are to be first discussed with other Departments/Ministries, before the adoption of the Policy by the Cabinet.
