studies on inputs for agricultural economic policy and development

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) today gave its approval for implementation of the Umbrella Scheme “Studies on Inputs for Agricultural Economic Policy and Development” during X Five Year Plan with an outlay of Rs.110.89 crore with the following four main components:


(i) Studying the Cost of Cultivation of Principal Crops in India (Component-I) – Rs.77.75 crore;

(ii) Agro-Economic Research Centres (Component-II) – Rs. 24.32 crore;

(iii) Planning and Management of Agriculture, including a one time Study on Strategy on Long Term Mechanization for each Agro-Climatic Zone/State (Component-III) – Rs. 8.52 crore; and

(iv) Strengthening of Agricultural Statistics and Policy Formulation (Component-IV) – Rs. 0.30 crore.


CCEA also approved the phasing out of the non-plan provision under Component No-II from 2004-05.
