The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) today gave its approval for implementation of the Umbrella Scheme Studies on Inputs for Agricultural Economic Policy and Development during X Five Year Plan with an outlay of Rs.110.89 crore with the following four main components:
(i) Studying the Cost of Cultivation of Principal Crops in India (Component-I) Rs.77.75 crore;
(ii) Agro-Economic Research Centres (Component-II) Rs. 24.32 crore;
(iii) Planning and Management of Agriculture, including a one time Study on Strategy on Long Term Mechanization for each Agro-Climatic Zone/State (Component-III) Rs. 8.52 crore; and
(iv) Strengthening of Agricultural Statistics and Policy Formulation (Component-IV) Rs. 0.30 crore.
CCEA also approved the phasing out of the non-plan provision under Component No-II from 2004-05.
