The Vice President, Shri Bhairon Singh Shekhawat has greeted the countrymen on the auspicious occasion of Ugadi, Gudi Padava, Chaitra Sukhladi and Cheti Chand.
In a message, Shri Shekhawat said that these festivals mark the beginning of New Year in various parts of the country and are celebrated in diverse ways with traditional gaiety and enthusiasm. These festivals reaffirm our belief in the underlying unity in the diversity of our great culture and promote social harmony.
The Vice President said that while celebrating these festivals, let us also remember the poor and the downtrodden and do our utmost to bring happiness in their lives.
May this New Year bring happiness, peace and prosperity to all the people of our country, he added.
