The Minister for Railways, Shri Lalu Prasad Yadav, alongwith Chairman, Railway Board and other senior officials visited the site of accident of collision between 9168 UP Sabarmati Express and goods train at Samlaya Station on Vadodara Division of Western Railways today. While visiting the injured passengers inside the hospital at Vadodara, some members of Bajrang Dal, Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) allegedly hurled water bottles and ice pieces at the Minister for Railways and officers accompanying him. While leaving the hospital, the vehicle occupied by the Minister for Railways was stoned resulting in breakage of rear window screen and the occupants including the Minister narrowly escaped. Attempts were also reportedly made to set the Ministers car on fire.
All India Railwaymens Federation (AIRF), National Federation of Indian Railwaymen (NFIR), Indian Railway Promotee Officers Federation (IRPOF) and Federation of Railway Officers Association (FROA) have strongly condemned the heinous act of Bajrang Dal, RSS and VHP allegedly and the total lawlessness revealed during the visit to the hospital by the Minister for Railways and the Railway officials.
