Two contracts have been signed in February, 2001 with M/s RVZ Russia for supply of Fully Formed T-90 Tanks and Transfer of Technology for their indigenous licensed production. All imported fully formed T-90 Tanks have already been inducted, while induction of assembled tanks from imported kits is ongoing for which a time schedule has been framed. An action plan has been prepared for indigenously manufacturing T-90s in the country.
This information was given by the Defence Minister Shri Pranab Mukherjee in a written reply to Shri K Rama Mohan Rao in Rajya Sabha today.
