The Union Cabinet today approved declaration of the existing domestic airport at Nagpur as an International Airport and also the renaming of the airport as Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport.
The declaration of domestic airport at Nagpur as international airport will offer improved air connectivity, wider choice of services at competitive cost to the air travellers resulting in boosting the international tourism and economic development of the region. Renaming of Nagpur Airport as Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport will also fulfill the long cherished demand of the public.
