msp of kharif crops for 2005-06 season

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs(CCEA) today approved the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of Kharif Crops for 2005-06 season, recommended by CACP as follows:

(i) The prices for different varietal groups of rice will be derived from the minimum support prices of paddy on the basis of hulling / milling ratios as well as the processing and incidental charges obtaining in different states;


(ii) The MSP recommended for F-414/H-777/J-34 variety of kapas will be made applicable only for Rajasthan;


(ii) The prices of F-414/H-777/J-34 grown in Haryana & Punjab will be fixed keeping in view the respective quality differentials vis-à-vis Rajasthan obtaining in these States;


(iii) The prices of varieties other than those in the group of long and superior long cotton will be fixed keeping in view the normal market price differentials between F-414/H-777/J-34 and other varieties;


(iv) The prices of varieties other than H-4 in the group of long and superior long cotton will be fixed keeping in view the normal market price differentials between H-4 and other varieties; and


(v) The NAFED would continue to be the nodal agency for procurement of oilseeds and pulses, and losses, if any, will be fully reimbursed. As regards cotton, NAFED would continue to undertake cotton procurement in addition to CCI.
