Bureau of Investigation after it was formed on the 1st April,
1963 and remained the head of the investigating agency till
the 1st May, 1968. During his tenure as the Director, Shri
Kohli put the CBI on a firm footing by extending its activities
and converting it into an efficient instrument of criminal
investigation. Shri Kohli was a visionary who sowed the seeds
for the development of the CBI into a strong and vibrant organization.
Thanks to his vision and efforts that CBI today enjoys reputation
of professionalism and fairness and has the confidence of
all sections of society and the Government. As a tribute to
its founder Director, CBI has been organising the memorial
lecture since the year 2000 to which eminent speakers are
invited to speak on topical issues.
