india and maldives discuss areas of cooperation in medical training

The Union Health and Family Welfare Minister, Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss met the Maldives Health Minister, Ms. Aneesa Ahmed and explored areas of mutual cooperation between the two countries. The Maldives Minister sought active cooperation in training for doctors as well as para-medicals and Dr. Ramadoss said that India will be happy to strengthen cooperation in such areas. The Maldives Minister also sought possibilities of on the job training for medical professionals in institutions in India. The Minister told the visiting delegation that India will be starting two public health institutions, one in south and one in north in collaboration with Harvard and John Hopkins institutions in the United States.
