The recommendations of Ajai Vikram Singh Committee report in respect of non-select ranks of Officers of the Navy and Air Force have been implemented. 2307 Officers of Navy and 4445 Officers of Air Force have been promoted to the next higher rank. The likely expenditure to be incurred per annum is Rs. 18 crores in respect of Navy and Rs. 21.45 crores for the Air Force.
This information was given by the Defence Minister Shri Pranab Mukherjee in a written reply to Shri Navjot Singh Sidhu and others in Lok Sabha today.
