His Excellency Mr. Nicolas Forissier, Minister of State for Agriculture, Food Processing, Fisheries and Rural Affairs, Republic of France called on Shri Mahabir Prasad, Minister of SSI & ARI, here today. Both the Ministers discussed the possibility of cooperation in the small enterprises sector engaged in food processing industries, training and manufacture of equipment/machinery for agro & rural industries between the two countries.
It was agreed upon that a Sub-Group on cooperation relating to small enterprises, particularly in agro, rural, khadi and coir sectors, may be established within the Joint Working Group on Agriculture under the Indo-French Agreement in the field of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Forestry & Food Industries, with a view to promoting close linkages at the levels of enterprises, chambers of industry and commerce and Government agencies.
