The Union Minister of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways, Thiru T. R. Baalu has approved four repair works to be carried out in tsunami- damaged sections of National Highways in Tamil Nadu. The total cost of the four works is Rs. 14.90 crore.
The sections are: km 57/762 – 76/0 of NH 45A in Villupuram Division, km 0/0-20/0 of NH 67 in Thanjavur Division, km 262/0-264/0 of NH 45B and km 599/0-655/0 of NH 47 in Tirunelveli Division.
These sections of National Highways in Tamil Nadu had suffered extensive damage during the tsunami disaster last year in December.
