The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs(CCEA) today gave in principle approval for a scheme for strengthening distribution network of Public Distribution System kerosene and domestic LPG. The aim of the Scheme is to ensure that these products should reach the targeted segments of the population in line with the National Common Minimum Programme.
The scheme includes creation of infrastructure facilities, setting up Block Wholesale Points, reliable mechanism for delivered supplies, selection of Sub-Wholesale Points and awareness generation. The service will initially be implemented in about 600 Blocks, and based on the experience gained, will be expanded to other areas.
