CBI ARRESTS DELHI POLICE SUB-INSPECTOR WHILE ACCEPTING BRIBE

CBI arrested a Sub-Inspector of Delhi Police posted at Police Station IGI Airport, New Delhi while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. Twenty Thousand from a complainant, who is a resident of Kullu (Himachal Pradesh) promising him a favourable decision in a case registered against him in Police Station, IGI Airport in which the complainant was falsely implicated. This case is being investigated by the accused Sub-Inspector himself. The complainant did not want to pay the bribe and reported the matter to CBI. In a follow up action, CBI laid a trap and arrested the accused Sub-Inspector while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. Twenty Thousand from the complainant. A case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and searches in the residence of the accused are in progress.
