A vacancy has occurred in the Council of States from the State of Maharashtra due to the resignation of sitting member Shri Nirupam Sanjay Brijkishorlal, on 18th March, 2005, before the expiration of his term of office, which was upto 2nd April, 2006.
The Election Commission has decided to fill up the above mentioned vacancy in
accordance with the following programme :-
1. Issue of Notification : 12.4.2005 (Tuesday)
2. Last date of making nominations: 19.4.2005 (Tuesday)
3. Scrutiny of nominations: 20.4.2005 (Wednesday)
4. Last date for the withdrawal of candidatures: 23.4.2005 (Saturday)
5. Date of poll: 30.4.2005 (Saturday)
6. Counting of Votes: 30.4.2005 (Saturday) at 5.00 P.M.
7. Date before which election shall be completed: 2.05.2005 (Monday)
