american concerns over indo-iran gas pipeline

The Minister of State for External Affairs, Shri Rao Inderjit Singh stated in Rajya Sabha today that the position of the Government of India is that there are ongoing discussions between India, Pakistan and Iran on the India-Iran pipeline. India’s energy requirements are growing exponentially with rapid industrialization. India has traditionally good relations with Iran. Government would take decisions on the gas pipeline based on India’s national interest.

Replying to a question by Shri Rama Muni Reddy Sirigireddy, Sh. K. Rama Mohana Rao and Smt. Savita Sharda gave this information.
