The Appointment Committee of the Cabinet has approved the following appointments:
Shri Charan Das Arha, IAS (AP-68) Secretary, Ministry of Mines, as Advisor, Planning Commission, in the rank and pay of Secretary, in the post vacated by Shri A.K. Misra, IAS (OR-69)
Shri P.C. Parakh, IAS (AP:69), Secretary, Ministry of Coal, to hold full additional charge as Secretary, Ministry of Mines, till further orders.
Shri Prem Singh Rana, IAS (HP:70), presently Secretary, National Commission for Scheduled Castes, as Secretary, Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, vice Shri J. Harinarayan, IAS (AP:70)
Shri Manoj Kumar, IAS (MP:70), Secretary, National Commission for Scheduled Tribes, to hold full additional charge of the post of Secretary, National Commission for Scheduled Castes, till further orders.
Shri Ajit K. Jain, IAS(UP:70), presently Special Secretary, Ministry of Power, as Secretary, Department of Disinvestment, in the post vacated by Shri R. Poornalingam, IAS (TN:70) on his appointment as Secretary, Ministry of Textiles. The post of Special Secretary, Ministry of Power, will revert to the level of Joint Secretary.
