There has been no increase in cases of Courts Martial in the defence forces.
Number of higher officials (Brigadier/equivalent and above) court-martialed during each of the last three years and the current year is as under.

The punishment imposed varied from sever reprimand to cashiering coupled with rigorous imprisonment.
