In an incident that would gladden the heart of our own animal lover Maneka Gandhi, Animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) ruined Naomi Campbell's 35th birthday at the Monaco Grand Prix, when they booed and chanted "Naomi Campbell - Fur Pimp!"
The supermodel, who was once an anti-fur campaigner for PETA, but turned her back on the cause to model furriers' garments, was booed as she appeared for a birthday photo opportunity at the start of the Formula One race.
"As Naomi rushed away it became clear that the best accessories for those who wear fur are earplugs. It proves PETA fans are everywhere," femalefirst quoted PETA President Ingrid Newkirk as saying.
