A resident of Borivali, Manish Kotian was arrested on Wednesday for mentally tormenting his wife Shweta and threatening to circulate nude pictures of her through his cell phone.
One fine morning while browsing through Manish’s phone, Shweta came across her nude pictures and was shocked.
The couples had an arranged marriage and have a four-year-old son. Problems started when Shweta learnt that Manish was having an affair with Pooja. She saw Pooja’s photograph in Manish’s pocket and confronted him. He agreed and then later on things went out of hand. Manish used to come home drunk and beat her up. According to Shweta, she was given a black powder by Manish, which would make her lose consciousness, after which he would undress her and take her nude pictures.
Manish even threatened to kill Shweta and her son. He used to even humiliate her mother by showing the nude pictures to her. Fed up with this entire ordeal Shweta approached the police. They called him and warned him to amend his ways. However, when Manish did not change his behaviour, Shweta approached a women’s organization, Bhagwati Mahila Vikas Mandal who took up her case with the cops.
Manish has been arrested and will be produced in court on March 2.
