A special health education campaign in the region's four bird flu infected zones to create awareness among the locals about the disease by the district administration here in Jalgaon.
Health services sources said pamphlets educating the people were being distributed so they could be asked to take precautionary measures.
Pamphlets were also published during the first bird flu outbreak in neighbouring Navapur district apart from being published in newspapers.
The administration would also visit die affected areas to distribute the pamphlets' as many of the villages were in remote locations and did not have access to newspapers.
Parents have been asked not to allow children to play with sick chickens. People have also been asked to wear proper protection gears like mask and hand gloves while disposing the dead birds and wash the hands after handling the birds.
