Municipal Commissioner Johny Joseph will soon be quiting his post and will take on the role on JNPT(Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust) chairman.
Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, reports say is reluctant to let him go since Joseph is very familiar with the city and its troubles but Joseph had wanted a cushy posting for a while now.
Joseph was quoted in Midday newspaper as saying “I have heard of this, but I have no official confirmation.”
The CM also claimed ignorance of the order but said he would know on June 2 when he reached Delhi.
“A new man will take another six months to find all the potholes,” he laughed.
Joseph had been under fire for the BMC's complete failure to deal with the floods last year in MUmbai.
