THE SPECIAL Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court on Monday extended the custody of Chhota Rajan's wife, elder brother and three associates till January 9. The five were arrested for running an organised syndicate involved in extortion and threatening real estate redevelopers.

Judge A. P. Bhangale extended the custody of Rajan's elder brother, Prakash Nikhalje alias Dada, Suresh Shinde, Rakesh Surve, Harvindersingh Bedi alias Kuku Daruwala and Rajan's wife Sujata.

Chief public prosecutor Rohini Salian asked for their custody stating that that the police had found a large amount of transaction in Prakash's bank account in Wai Urban Cooperative Bank, Satara and need have to trace the actual source of the money.
The accused were booked under MCOCA after a builder from Tilak Nagar lodged a police complaint stating that the Chhota Rajan gang had demanded Rs 20 lakh ransom from him.
