RAHUL Palace residents' led the celebrations in Ulhasnagar on Wednesday in wake of the Bombay High Court judgment, staying all demolitions in the town for 18 months.
They welcomed the verdict with a comment, "Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gam." Most of the women, in fear-hit families kept a fast and started praying to the almighty to save their homes, purchased with hard-earned money. The tension rose when they heard that the court was angry and had criticized the State Government and. the UMC for failing to curb illegal constructions.
Now, they believe that God has brought about a miracle which has saved their homes.
Rohit Wadhwa, a resident of Rahul Palace told FPJ that on each floor of the building, the residents had organised pooja. Many women consumed water only after hearing the verdict. As soon, as it came, the residents started distributing sweets and performing aarti to the gods, Wadhwa said. All the residents have demanded stringent punishment for the. builder, the architect and the UMC officers responsible for each illegal structure.
