The trial run of the Amritsar-Nankana Sahib bus service would be carried out in the day with a delegation of Punjab and Central government officials on board.
The trial for the bus service, which would connect Amritsar and Nankana Sahib, the birth place of founder of Sikh religion Nanak Dev, would be conducted from the International Bus Terminal in the heart of the city at 0900 hours in the day, an official release said.
It was the demand of the prime Sikh religious and management body of the Harmandhar Sahib (changed name of the Golden Temple) which led to the bus service being started from the city to Nankana Sahib.
A fortyfive seater Volvo Super Luxury bus is being operated by Punjab Roadways in Amritsar for the journey on the Indian side, according to the General Manager Punjab Roadways Lakhwinder Singh Dharowali.
The one way fare of the bus is Rs 700 from the Indian side in Indian currency and Rs 900 from the Pakistani side in Pakistan currency.
Children between the age of 2 to 12 year will be charged fare while children below 2 years would be allowed free.
