Mumbai: The nights in Mumbai have got cooler and the sudden chill in the air has some people lighting bonfires to ward off the cold. For a city otherwise known for its humid climate and torrential rains, it was a novelty to see people rubbing themselves for some heat and watchmen seeking warmth from little bonfires.
That the night was unusually cold became evident after the Met department recorded a minimum temperature of 13.4 degrees Celsius in the city, three points below normal, early Tuesday.
However, the mercury had not fallen as low as it had Dec 21 when it touched almost 11 degrees Celsius. Experts had then predicted another cold spell in Mumbai.
