Mumbai: An aspiring model from South Africa has complained to the police that she was drugged in a suburban pub and raped by two youths over two days, Wednesday and Thursday.

The police picked up two suspects, Sunil Morpani and Suresh Krishnani, both event organizers, from Ulhasnagar on Saturday in response to the complaint made on Thursday evening.

The 27-year-old victim said in the FIR that she went to the three-star Bawa International Hotel near Santa Cruz domestic airport at 10 pm on December 27 to meet Govind Singh Bawa, the owner, who had invited her over. After meeting Bawa, she went to Avalon pub in the same hotel, spent half-an-hour there, then ordered drinks and dinner at the hotel's restaurant.

Halfway through her meal, the model, who was alone, went to the toilet. She returned to her table and finished her food and drink, but felt strangelygiddy. It was then that the two alleged suspects popped up and offered to drop her home. The model suspects the two had spiked her drink. She said in her complaint that she was eventually dropped home at Lokhandwala Complex in Kandivli in a drugged state nearly two days later.

The woman is the daughter of an owner of super market chain at Durban and had come to pursue a career in films. She had joined an acting school to learn acting. It has been established that she was taken to two seedy hotels in Ulhasnagar, locked up and repeatedly raped.
