Mumbai: After a sabbatical of a decade, Ramesh Sippy is returning to direction. He is making this comeback with his most trusted lieutenants, Javed Akhtar and Amitabh Bachchan, after a gap of 25 years This yet untitled film will begin by the end of this year.
Amitabh Bachchan will play the lead along with, he hopes, Hema Malini. "I am bored of production now. I want to return to my roots, to direction," says Sippy. "I have lived my life as a director and want to die as one."
The last film directed by Sippy was Shah Rukh Khan – Raveena Tandon starrer Zamana Deewana. It didn’t do well.
