New Delhi: Describing the Government decision to privatize Delhi and Mumbai airports as "shameless surrender" to private parties, CPI(M) threatened to intensify its agitation against the move and also take up the matter in Parliament.
After addressing agitating workers at the airport in New Delhi, party Polit Buro member Brinda Karat said that the government had taken a very wrong decision, putting aside all ethics of transparency and justice.
She stated that it was not only a matter of privatisation, but also a "matter of ignoring 22,000-strong AAI organization."
Demanding the immediate withdrawal of the decision, the CPI(M) leader threatened to intensify the agitation if the Government did not oblige.
She also appealed to all political parties to come forward to support the cause.
Claiming that the process of privatization was started during the previous BJP-led NDA regime, she said the present dispensation was continuing with the "bulldozer" of privatization in every sphere.
