Mumbai: A foreign national holding a French passport, was on Friday arrested at the Bombay airport here on the charge of smuggling hashish valued at Rs 48.66 lakhs, customs sources said.
The foreign national, identified as Le Moigne Domitile, 34, was found carrying hashish weighing 9.7 kgs and valued at Rs 48.66 lakhs in the international market, the sources said.
The accused was to board a flight to Milan via Zurich by Swiss Airlines flight LX-155 in the wee hours of Friday.
Examination of her suit case resulted in recovery of brown coloured sticky, substance purported to be hashish.
The narcotic drug tested positive for hashish and was seized under the provisions of Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, the sources said.
The accused, in her statement, admitted the possession, carriage and concealment of the drug seized, sources said.
