Now that his ex, Aishwarya Rai seems all set to marry Abhishek Bachchan, Salman Khan too seems to be keen on tying the knot. Salman has been involved with the lovely Katrina Kaif for a few years now. Sources say Salman wants marriage but Katrina is taking her time.
Salman's hit and run case and wild life hunting case are reasons for uncertainity in his life and Katrina apparently isn't very comfortable with the scenario. Katrina Kaif is also believed to be wary of Salman Khan's reputation with women and his posessiveness. Salman Khan, industry watchers say, has ensured that Katrina Kaif works either in his home productions or in the movies of those close to him. When she works in outside movies like 'Humko Deewana Kar Gaye', invariably Helen, Salman Khan's stepmother or some other trusted person is part of the movie in some way to keep his beloved away from Bollywood actors eyeing her.
The age difference between the two may be weighing on Katrina's mind as well. Katrina Kaif, at 22 years is a whole 19 years younger to Salman Khan who will complete 41 later this month.
Salman also recently asked director Raj Kumar Santoshi to replace his co-star Priyanka with Katrina, wanting to spend more time with her.
A film maker who requested anonymity says, "Katrina Kaif is stunningly beautiful and puts even Aishwarya Rai in the shade.
It's sad that she has been doing non-descript films. If she wasn't Salman Khan's girl she would be working with the biggest of Bollywood banners. I considered approaching her but didn't. When you're working with Katrina, sooner or later having tocontend with Salman Khan is a distinct possibility and that's not a thought I relish".
Salman Khan embarassed Aishwarya Rai with his bullying twice on the sets of her films, Ramesh Sippy's 'Kuch Na Kaho' and Shahrukh Khan's 'Chalte Chalte'. Eventually Ash was replaced by Rani Mukherjee in 'Chalte Chalte' and she lost many friends along the way.
Katrina Kaif's forthcoming films are 'Partner' and 'London Dreams', both with Salman Khan and 'Namaste London' where she plays Akshay Kumar's romantic interest. 'Namaste London' has Salman Khan in a guest appearance.
